Book Signing

I was asked to do a book signing for Concept Art Book published by Ballistic Publishing. Okay, they asked everyone in it I think but I replied first! Always the opportunist! You know what they say about opportunities. I think it goes something like, "Without opportunities then we'd have to rely purely on how good we are and we'd live in world with no opportunities." Okay, that was stupid, that's why I'm an artist and not writer or reciter of wisdom and such things that would sound smart like or otherwise considered witty. Okay back to the subject.

I'll be doing this on April 26th, 2008 and April 27th at the UCLA Book Festival under the Hi-De-Ho comics booth. It would be great to meet any artists that are from CGS, so please stop by and say hello! The 26th is actually my birthday and all are invited to hop down to Westwood for some drinks! Woohoo!

Hope to see you there!

Scooby Doo Concepts

I put up a few of the concepts I did for a Scooby Doo game. It was really different then what I'm used to doing but that's what I like about doing video games, the diversity. Cartoony is a lot harder then it looks.

Anyhow, check it out here.

I'll show some of the EA Metal of Honor stuff once the game gets released. Till then I'll probably do some speed paintings and posting them at speedpaintings.com. It's a new forum and it's pretty neat, check it out at www.speedpaintings.com

Prints Available

Many people have been inquiring about poster prints of the Airforce bike that was recently published in Concept Design book by Ballistic Publishing so I recently put something together at an online poster company. I ordered a print today to see how good the quality is, but I've ordered from there in the past and I was very satisfied with what I got.

Here's the link if you're at all interested in purchasing a print for yourself.

Optical Illusions

Here's a website showing the relationship of colors next to other colors and how they can be percieved as different when they are actually the same. Being artists we can appreciate this effect more then others I actually tested it out in Photoshop by grabbing the colors to make sure I wasn't being duped and sure enough it was true. Check it out, it's pretty neat.

Optimus WIP

Finishing up a project at work hopefully I'll be able to show some stuff from it real soon. I'm taking a little break from the tank painting I was working on and started something new. It's still WIP.

Here's an update on the Tank rendering too. I was fixing some of the perspective issues I was having with it. It needs more of it on the top plates. I also changed the orientation of it, i think it looks more dynamic this way. I'll probably bounce back and forth from the Transformer to this, I guess it's good to have both going. ADD sucks sometimes. Hehehe.
